Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, the requirement to submit two hard copies of your thesis at this stage has been waived. You would only have to submit hard copies at a later stage if your examiners specifically request them for the viva.
Your final thesis must be submitted online by uploading to Spiral (the College’s digital repository). Please note that your submission will be checked by Research Degrees before being released to the Spiral team in the library, and your thesis will only be made available publicly on expiry of any agreed embargo.
The format and submission of theses is governed by section 20.6 of the University Regulations for Graduate and Postgraduate Awards.Before submitting a thesis, candidates should ensure that they have complied with these regulations.
The thesis should be submitted not later than the end of the Period of Registration. Your submission deadline. Your PhD thesis should be submitted before the last day of your fourth year of study. You can find your submission deadline on your CamSIS self-service account. The earliest date you can submit is the first day of your ninth term.
The responsibility for deciding whether to submit your thesis for examination rests with you and your decision should take account of the opinion of your supervisory team. Please note however that your supervisory team’s opinion is advisory only, and an opinion that the thesis is ready for.
